Addiction and Mental Health

Our Addictions and Mental Health Program combines a well-rounded curriculum, specialized instruction and an intensive field-related practicum to prepare you for a future career in group homes, correctional facilities, young offender facilities, emergency shelters and mental health centres.

This program focuses on the professional and paraprofessional duties and mental health knowledge that this an Addictions and Mental Health Worker requires. From Basic Psychology to Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) to Communication Strategies, our curriculum fully prepares you for the challenges and rewards of helping a vulnerable sector of the community. A 300-hour work placement gives you the opportunity to put your new skills into practice, giving you the confidence, insight and experience you need to succeed in the future.
