Our Developmental Service Worker Program combines in-depth instruction, hands-on training and a field-related work placement to prepare you for a rewarding career path in health services. Developmental Service Workers assist people with developmental disabilities and their families, making them vital members of the community health team. Our program focuses on the skills that will help you manage the tasks and of a Developmental Service Worker, including Basic Psychology, Intervention Methods, Crisis Prevention Intervention and Case Record Management. You’ll gain a strong knowledge of developmental disabilities, community and facility placement, and strengthen your interpersonal and communication skills. A 125-hour clinical placement gives you the opportunity to put your skills into practice, giving you the confidence, insight and experience you need to succeed in the future.
