Personal Support Worker

Our Personal Support Worker Program combines a well-rounded curriculum, specialized instruction and intensive clinical and field placements to prepare you for a career in health care services. Personal Support Workers care for elderly, injured or recuperating patients and provide much-needed respite to their families, making them vital members of any community health team. Upon graduation, you’ll have the training and tools you need to work in non-institutional health services, municipal governments and hospitals as well as the private sector.

Our program focuses on the skills and hands-on training that are needed to handle the tasks and responsibilities that will be required of you in your new career, including First Aid/CPR, Safety & Mobility, Household Management and Nutrition and Hydration. You’ll also learn to recognize signs of abuse and neglect and gain a thorough knowledge of cognitive and mental health issues, brain injuries and other health conditions that you may encounter. A 310-hour clinical placement gives you the opportunity to put your skills into practice, giving you the confidence, insight and experience you need to succeed in the future.
